Professional background

I am a PhD Chemist and Senior R&D Director with 28 years’ experience leading innovation programs and teams for some of the largest and most successful FMCG companies globally including BP Chemicals, Gillette (Proctor and Gamble), Kimberly Clark and currently British American Tobacco. I have been based in the UK, EU and the USA.

My passion is innovation and I have worked in this field through my entire career via either internal innovation or via JDAs with SMEs or large external innovation partners, tech scouters and companies.

I have worked in all stages of product development from early discovery ideation through to deployment. The above has afforded me with a significant and broad global network and experience.

I spend a lot of time formally coaching and mentoring both internally and externally.

Within the next 36 months I plan to formally retire from the corporate world and plan to leverage and diversify my experience and financial assets in new areas including potentially angel investments, innovation consulting and growing my Edinburgh property portfolio.
